Frequently Asked Questions

What's the IPFS network?

The IPFS network is a "peer-to-peer hypermedia protocol designed to make the web faster, safer, and more open.". In other words, it can be compared to what you are using to view this website (http/https) but in an entirely decentralized way.

What can I host?

Anything static (or using javascript for dynamic content). It's not possible to run PHP -or another server-side language- on the decentralized web, however, if it makes sense for your site, you can make it static or use Nouv in a different way such as uploading the encrypted documents of your document signing service, or the post history of your forum. Possibilities are endless. If you need help to upload your site, feel free to reach out to us!

How can I access my site?

Accessing your IPFS site (or files/documents/..) can be done in multiple ways.
The simplest one being through Brave + an IPFS gateway.
It can also be accessed easily through an IPFS gateway on any other browser, without needing to install an extension.
You can also link your domain with DNSLink (a TXT record to add to your domain), it will connect your "ICANN" domain to your Nouv project on IPFS. Some browsers are starting to support DNSLink, however if yours does not yet, you can still access DNSLink-powered sites with a browser extension.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept major credit cards through Stripe, and cryptocurrencies (BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC, DAI, USDC) through our Coinbase commerce integration.
